Inside Out with Recruitment!

February 18th, 2010

GET TO KNOW YOUR RECRUITER

GET TO KNOW YOUR RECRUITER

In the current economic downturn, it is essential that you do get inside out with your Recruiter!

The importance of getting to know your Recruiter is paramount - they are your representative for your career.

Rather than judging you by your CV alone, it is imperative they get to know you -

  1. Who you are
  2. Where you are at
  3. Where you have come from
  4. Where you are going
  5. Why
It is vital your Recruiter has the gift of empathy.
They need to have to ability to listen rather than hear.
Your Recruiter has your future in their hands.

Be aware of the CV snatchers!

January 28th, 2010

WATCH YOUR CV

WATCH YOUR CV

Nurses, watch your CV at all times and be aware of the CV snatchers.

We have warned all job seekers about this before, but unfortunately, this practice continues.

All job seekers when using Agencies or applying for jobs online - keep control of your CV.

Do not authorise anyone to send it on your behalf as this may lead Recruitment Agents to send your CV out to Companies without your knowledge.

This can lead to your CV turning up 2 or 3 times to the same Company and this reflects badly on you, the job seeker as it gives the impression of carelessness.

A job seeker is entitled to a full job description, name of Company and as much time as required before giving informed consent in relation to their CV going forward to a Company for a particular job

When applying for jobs - keep control of your CV - know exactly where it is at all times - write it down to avoid coming across as a sloppy or careless job seeker

Nurses watch your voicemail and e mail when applying for jobs!

January 14th, 2010

No to Bad e mail addresses and voicemails

No to Bad e mail addresses and voicemails

Nurses watch your voicemail and your e mail when applying for jobs!

Unfortunately, many Nurses can be careless when applying for jobs and have e mail addresses that do not reflect a professional - ie

hotmary@hotmail.com

lush69@yahoo.co.uk

These give a bad impression to the jobs market professionals

Also, ensure you have your voicemail activated with a clear and consise message - not one with music, babies crying  and shouting in the background.

Another common factor are voicemails that are not activated or answering your phone in work when you cannot talk.

If you are looking for a job - don’t answer your phone if you cannot talk, have your voicemail activated and professional and ensure you are checking your e mails regularly and your e mail address is professional.

Nurses watch your CV!

March 18th, 2009

Nurses watch your CV!Hi guys,

This post applies to all Nurses, Midwives and Medical Professionals on the current jobs market.

Due to current economy, HSE and recruitment squeezes occurring in most areas, if you are using a Recruitment Agency to help you find a job - watch your CV!

In particular, if you are using a number of Medical Recruitment Agencies, try to limit it to 2 or 3 that you know and trust.

We have had 4 recent episodes of job seekers’ CV’s being sent forward to jobs they know nothing about and did not give their consent for.

This is bad Recruitment Practice and anyone using Recruitment Agencies must be very careful to ask their Recruitment Consultant to tell them about the job first before sending their CV across to any prospective employers.

Please go to www.nrf.ie to be sure of the Recruitment Code of Practice.

Recruitment Agencies are there to supply job seekers and employers a service and to make finding a new job a little easier and hopefully quicker.

Bad practice slows the process down and hinders rather than helps the process.

Control and watch your CV and ensure your Recruitment Consultant requests your permission before sending your CV anywhere - otherwise, it reflects badly on the job seeker as employers feel they are being careless and desperate if their CV turns up repeatedly for the same job.
