We have a job in for a General Nurse with Geriatric/Elderly experience in West Wicklow on a Part Time basis - ie 1-2 Long Days a week.

This Nurse job would suit someone who cannot commit to a full time Nurse job and lives locally - ideally in or near the areas of Hacketstown or Baltinglas.

This is a small and wonderful Elderly Care centre with only 14 Residents.

Requirements -

  • Full An Bord Altranais Registration
  • Fluent English
  • Living locally to this area
  • Car owner
  • Flexible
  • Elderly experience
  • Registered General Nurse

This Palliative Care Centre based in West Wicklow is seeking 2 experienced Geriatric Staff Nurses for Night Duty.

Small and friendly setting.

Must be registered with ABA, fluent in English and experienced in Gerontology.

A minimum of 3 years Post Grad experience in required.

These Staff Nurses will have full responsibility for the patients at night.

Ideally, a car owner, living in the Carlow or West Wicklow, Blessington area.

RELAX!

Interview Nerves? The best advice we can give you is to relax!

When preparing for an interview there are many things you can do to make it a great experience:

 

  • Research the company - use their website to gain information about what they do, who they cater for. Google is also an invaluable tool when doing some research, but their own website is the very first port of call

 

  • Know your CV - as obvious as this statement is, you will find that you could be asked to give an example during an interview and find that you get tongue tied or cannot find an answer. The best way to avoid this is to study your CV. Get your past work experience fresh in your mind, think about your duties, your responsibilities, those reporting to you or those you cared for. Think about any situations that occoured on any given day and how the issue was resolved. This is what you give as your “example” when answering tricky questions.

 

  • Know the Job Description of the job you are going for - know the role, the responsibilities, who you are reporting to. If you have any questions then make a list and try to remember that list when at the interview

 

Last but not least, relax!

You can be well researched on the company and fully know your CV inside out, and it will be your nerves that get you in the end if you let them! Be safe in the knowledge that you have your research done and all you can do is your best with your interviewers.

Who Cares?

Who cares for our elderly? We are indebted to the Geriatric Nurses of our nation for their love and compassion towards the elderly of our country.

Whether you have a beloved Grandmother or a hard thinking Grandfather who needs care and constant compassion and empathy that simply goes beyond what you can give them, it is the hands of our Gerontology Nurses that their lives are placed in.

Who cares for the elderly? It is those Nurses who have the love and patience for what they do, those who are consumed with caring for our loved ones, and those who I dare say get caught up in the stories of old!

We also understand that you may be living away from home or travelling to get to work. In which case we may have an option for you to continue caring for the elderly with a number of opportunities in Nursing Homes around the country.
